BAKE SALE
The student council are organising a bake sale on Tuesday 1st April. We have decided that we will donate half the proceeds to Trócaire and the other half will be used to fund future student council events.
The student council would really appreciate it if you could bake something for the sale. Please send your baked goods in with your child on the morning of the sale and please include a list of ingredients with your baked goods to ensure the safety of all students. On the day of the sale, please also ensure that your child has coins to purchase some baked goods.
Student Council:
We are very lucky to have a student council in Booterstown National School. The Student Council is formed at the start of every school year. Students from third to sixth class have the opportunity to run for Student Council and deliver a speech to their class on why you should vote for them. After the speeches are given, third to sixth class vote for who they would like to represent their class.
The Student Council is a very big responsibility. We meet every few weeks to discuss our plans for the year. We always make sure to listen to what our peers have to say. In the past we have organised brilliant events such as a whole school football tournament, bake sale, movie day, chess tournament, Halloween disco and water fight.
Events for 2024/2025 School Year
Halloween Table Quiz:
Just before Halloween, the student council set up a Halloween Quiz for 3rd to 6th class. The hall was decorated and there were lots of treats and popcorn. The classes were split up into six groups and there were four quiz rounds: songs, sweets, Halloween and school. The winning team all got homework passes. It was really fun and a huge success. Infants and 2nd class got to do Halloween Bingo. They really enjoyed it. The Student Council are hoping to do more fun activities throughout the rest of the year!

Christmas Movie Day:
For the Christmas movie day every class got to watch a Christmas movie of their choice. It was very fun because there was a popcorn machine in each classroom. We all ate lots of popcorn and treats. It was very fun and everybody had a great time!

Pyjama Day:
We had Pyjama Day on Friday 31st January and the children were invited to wear their pyjamas to school. Everyone brought in €2 for 'Burns by your Side' Reading for Dogs which we are very lucky to have in our school. We raised €250 for the charity! Luna came to school in her pyjamas too!
